Adoration. Formation. Transformation.
Almighty God, who hast given thy only Son to be unto us both a sacrifice for sin and also an example of godly life: Give us grace that we may always most thankfully receive that his inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavor ourselves to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

- The Collect for Proper 15

All that we do and all that we need to do is made possible by your prayers, faithful witness and generous gifts.  Please support our work and mission and experience the transformation of generosity.

A Note About the Kalendar
_
I was recently asked why saints names are placed in the Kalendar and what we are supposed to do with them.  The Kalendar is listed below to (a) give information about the daily rhythm of prayer and adoration at St Timothy's and (b) to introduce you the great cloud of witnesses that inspire us and support us with their prayers. Even if you can't make it to the daily round of services at St Timothy's, please know that we are praying on your behalf.  Please use these biographies as sources of inspiration and strength.

He Who Sings Prays Twice ...
Would You Like to Join the Adult Choir?
Have you thought about singing in the St Timothy's Adult Choir but just haven't been able to take the plunge yet? September is the perfect time to begin.

This year the 9:00am Adult Choir will sing for the 9am mass, Advent Lessons & Carols, and Christmas Eve. We will rehearse Wednesdays from 7:20-8:45pm in the Choir Room. Choir rehearsals begin Wednesday September 2, and we would love for you to join us. Music reading ability is helpful but not required.

The 11am Mass Choir will rehearse on Mondays from 5:45-7:15pm in the Choir Loft and will sing for evening masses. Music reading ability (or willingness to learn music outside of rehearsals) is required for this choir.

Contact Christin at christin@sttimothys.ws for more information or to express your interest.
Mark Your Calendars
Please plan to attend our Food Trust Festival to launch our Wednesday Night Dinners at St. Tim's on September 9th from 5-7pm . *Note the time change from the Youth/Children's calendars mailed last week.

We need lots of people from the community and St. Tim's to come eat, play games, jump in the bouncy house, and enjoy some music. Please save this date and invite friends, neighbors, and family to join us. It is a great way for the Winston-Salem community to check out St. Tim's and feel welcomed to a church without any other agenda but enjoying some great food. TimFest invitations will be available in the church narthex. If you have any questions, contact John Roberts, Director of Formation and Development, at  john.roberts@sttimothys.ws .
Financial Peace University Class

Plans are in the works to offer Dave Ramsey's class, Financial Peace University, at St Tim's. "We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan. It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!" FPU classes meet for around an hour and a half each week for nine weeks.

We need to know if you are interested in participating. There is also a youth and children's curriculum available if there is enough interest from families.  Please contact Adrienne Beauchamp at adriennebeauchamp8@gmail.com or William Beauchamp at wdbeauch@gmail.com if you are interested, have questions, or if you would like to lead one of the classes.

Salem Gymnastics and Internet Safety
Parents & children are invited to join us on Sunday, August 30th at 5:30pm at Salem Gymnastics for family play time.  While the children are wild at play, the adults can learn more about internet safety for your family from a local professional.  Bring your wireless devices and a snack to share.  For more info, contact katie@sttimothys.ws
Pilgrimage  to England
Fr. Steve is leading a small pilgrimage to England (London - Canterbury - Norwich - Walsingham) April 8 - April 18. If you are interested, a communicant in good standing, able to handle a lot of walking and movement, and are willing to participate in book and Bible Studies in preparation, please send Fr. Steve an email at frsteve@sttimothys.ws

Children and Youth Formation Calendars
Last week Katie and Christin sent out the Children's Formation and Choir Fall Calendar, and John sent out the Cantate and Youth Fall Calendar. If you did not receive these in the mail, please let us know and we will get you a copy. Email John or Katie at john.roberts@stimothys.ws or katie@sttimothys.ws

Katie will be responsible for parish connections - helping visitors make connections to and within the parish, helping current members make connections with each other and ministry opportunities, and to help us all make connections with our overflow shelter.

Thank you all for your continued support for Katie Harper and the work of this parish.
