Adoration. Formation. Transformation.
O Lord, we beseech thee, let thy continual pity cleanse and defend thy Church, and, because it cannot continue in safety without thy succor, preserve it evermore by thy help and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

THIS WEEK AT ST TIMOTHY'S
AUGUST / 4 /  2014
WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS WEEK
Feast of the Transfiguration
Wednesday, August 6th 2014 | 5:30pm

The Feast of the Transfiguration celebrates the foretaste of Christ's heavenly glory on the mountain with Peter, James, and John.  It reminds us that Christ is both God and man, two natures united in one person (Read about the Council of Chalcedon which affirmed Two Natures in One Person).

We will keep the feast with a Missa Cantata (Sung Mass) at 5:30pm, Wednesday, August 6th.  Please note that this is one hour earlier than usual as we will have a picnic on the grounds following the Eucharist.

As always, childcare will be available.

Note on tomorrow's liturgy:
Hymns will be: When morning gilds the skies, Fairest Lord Jesus, & O Wondrous Type! O Vision Fair.
For the Offertory, Raymond Hawkins will play "Allegretto" from Kleine Prludien und Intermezzi.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK
Peace Camp
Wednesday to Friday, July 30-August 1

It's amazing to watch city-kids spend time in the woods!  The smiles and wonder on their faces as they explored, swam, fished, sang, and laughed together will not soon be forgotten!  We had 27 kids from Anthony's Plot and 8 kids from St.Timothy's for 3 days out at Seven Springs in Davie County.  A big thanks to Christin Barnhardt for hosting us at camp, to Stacee Lockard for serving as our camp chef, Barnes Daniels for being the sandwich man, to Amelia Mau for teaching the children guitar, and to Robert Matthews & John Roberts for jumping right in to help with the kids!  Peace Camp was a joint venture building community between the children of St.Timothy's and Anthony's Plot.

Psalm 96
on the Feast of SS Mary & Martha

76 adults, youth, and children gathered at St Timothy's on the Feast of SS Mary and Martha to pray and reflect on Psalm 96.  Fr Steve mentioned in last Friday's "This Sunday at St Timothy's" that the vestry met the following evening to reflect and discuss the movement from the gathering.
