Adoration. Formation. Transformation.

O Almighty God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men: Grant unto thy people that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

- The Collect for the Fourth Sunday in Lent

All that we do and all that we need to do is made possible by your prayers, faithful witness and generous gifts.  Please support our work and mission and experience the transformation of generosity.

A Note About the Kalendar
_
I was recently asked why saints names are placed in the Kalendar and what we are supposed to do with them.  The Kalendar is listed below to (a) give information about the daily rhythm of prayer and adoration at St Timothy's and (b) to introduce you the great cloud of witnesses that inspire us and support us with their prayers. Even if you can't make it to the daily round of services at St Timothy's, please know that we are praying on your behalf.  Please use these biographies as sources of inspiration and strength.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY
HOME: A Shelter Update

HOME:  That's what Drake Hall has been for the last 4 months for almost 100 unique guests.  Some of our guests only stay a few nights, while others have been with us for the whole 4 months.  Each night our volunteers spread out mattresses on the floor, set the tables for dinner, and hand out blankets and sheets--but these domestic supplies aren't what makes Drake Hall a "home."  You all have shared your space, your time, your energy, your love--it is in this sharing that "home" is found.  You have offered "home" to guests who have no one else to turn to--those who are deemed "homeless" have indeed found a sense of "home" at St Timothy's.  If you've been at the shelter in the past week or so, you can sense the anxiety and tension in our guests as they wonder what will be next for them.  Many are mourning the imminent transition away from the stability and care that have been sheltering them this winter from their otherwise harsh reality.  April 1 is coming soon--and we are still working around the clock to help our guests find a new place to consider "home."

TONIGHT (03.24.15) we will have our last City with Dwellings Meeting of the shelter season at 5:30 pm in Drake Hall.  All are invited to be a part of this city-wide effort to take care of our city's most vulnerable residents.  Come learn more about the plans in place for our guests and overflow shelters as we wind down the winter season.

Our guests are only in our direct care for one more week.  Don't miss out on this unique opportunity--truly a gift-- to experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ in the faces and lives of our guests.  You can sign up at http://citywithdwellings.org/overflow/volunteer/ and click on St.Timothy's.  If you find that the only nights you can come already have all the volunteer spots filled, please contact me.  April 1 is our last morning of the shelter--and we will need people with trucks/vans who are willing to help our guests move out.  Please let me know if you can help move stuff, furniture, and supplies during Holy Week.  We are also always accepting monetary donations to help offset the cost of this work. Email [email protected] for more info. This ministry of hope is not possible without your help!
