Only $900,000 is budgeted so far, and detainees are excluded from representation. Meanwhile, the Mayor is boasting about the budget surplus, and temporary protected status (TPS) for Salvadoran immigrants will end in Sept. 2019. Additional funding will support attorney staffing at Ayuda, Catholic Charities, CARE (Capitol Area Immigrants Rights) Coalition and others. This is a chance to think globally and act locally.  More info?  Email Barbara Kraft.
