Emmanuel Centering Prayer
The Emmanuel Centering Prayer group meets at 5:30 each Sunday.  Typically, we have a 20 minute period of silent prayer followed by a short discussion. Currently we are reading together Cynthia Bourgeault's Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening.  You do not have to have a copy of the book, nor do you have to read ahead.   Centering Prayer is simply silent prayer in which we place ourselves in God's presence and rest there.  It extends and supports "active" prayer in which we use words to praise, thank, and petition.  Many have found Centering Prayer to be a powerful path to experiencing the spirit of God within us.  Everyone is welcome to join us in the "Bride's Room" (the small room through the door at the back of the church).  If you have questions, Jim Lott (540-290-9136) or Rose Jensen (920-544-7311) will be happy to try to answer them.
Bus Needed
Helping Hands Day Camp coordinators are in need of a bus to transport children to various outreach projects during the week of July 31 to August 3. Bus needed about 2-3 hours per day; we have access to a driver if we need it.  Contact Laurie Clements in the office if you have any ideas on how to find one.
