9 TO 5, THE MUSICAL

IS TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS THIS WEEKEND!

 "Lively, dynamic, and fun!" is how director Lindsay Fussell describes 9 to 5, The Musical, Packed with great music, big dance numbers and lots of laughs, the show opens this Friday, July 17, on the MainStage at your Chattanooga Theatre Centre.

Friday night our grand opening gala begins at 7:00 catered by Events With Taste complete with complimentary adult beverages (recipe follows). Curtain Friday and Saturday evening is at 8:00.

The musical, based on the 20th Century Fox movie, features words and music by Dolly Parton, with book by Patricia Resnick.

The cast of 23 includes both familiar and new faces. Greer Caldwell, Beth McClary, and Kelseigh Garrett play Judy, Violet, and Doralee who team up against egotistical boss Franklin Hart, Jr., played by Jerry Draper.The talented cast features Christi Barr, Dana Cole, Addie Counts, Dale Dye, Rudy Foster, Kendra Gross, Denise Hardee, Joshua Harrell, Garrett Henson, Jeff Hill, Tim Kelley, Deborah Meeks, Ashlin Neal, Mark Oglesby, Gryphon Page, Lauren Rayhab, Angela Tuttle, Monica Woodlief, and Jake ZachryLindsay Fussell directs; Allan Ledford is musical director. Rodney Strong is stage manager assisted by Bethany Bing.The live band is led by Marcia Smith on piano. Robin Brown plays second keyboard, 

with Tristan Davis on guitar, Drew Jennings on bass 

and Erik Gehrky on percussion.

Tickets for our 92nd season are now available, so choose your favorite series, select your preferred seat, and save on a fantastic lineup for shows for 2015-2016. There are eight productions next season, which opens with the blockbuster musical Sister Act in September and ends with the Monty Python musical, Spamalot in July. In between there are more great musicals, comedies, and dramas. A ninth holiday production, A Christmas Story, The Musical, can be added to the season ticket package.

REVENGE OF THE SPACE PANDAS
Performance Training Academy Summer Stock presents David Mamet's Revenge of the Space Pandas - the first of three productions summer productions - this Friday at 10:30 and 5:00 in the Circle.
The cast, made up of students in grades 4 - 12,
is directed by CTC's Youth Theatre Director, Scott Dunlap.

 

The story: Binky Rudich uses his two-speed clock to make himself and his friends fly off the earth and land on Crestview, the fourth world in the Goolagong System. There they come face-to-face with the storm troopers of the Goose Nebula, the Space Pandas.

A limited number of tickets are available at $4 each.

Two additional summer stock productions - Tomato Plant Girl and Honk, Jr. (a musical) will be performed on subsequent Fridays.

FOR A DIVINE MUSICAL

Many fabulous roles available for African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian actors with great vocal chops and comedic skills. Auditions are Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 in the Circle Theatre. Scott Dunlap will direct the show, which plays on the MainStage September 18 - October 4, 2015. 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

A MAGNUM OPUS ABOUT BEETHOVEN AND ALS

Auditions for the play 33 Variations - a parallel story of a music teacher and Ludwig Van Beethoven - is scheduled for August 10 & 11 at 7:30. George Quick will direct the play, which will be presented October 9 - 18, 2015.

YOUTH THEATRE AUDITIONS

 

NEW AUDITION DATES FOR SEASON'S FIRST YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCTION

 

Auditions for EDGAR, the Youth Theatre's first show of the 2015-2016 season, have been rescheduled for August 31 and September 1. Halloween production dates of October 23 through November 1 remain the same. Scott Dunlap is directing. Actors in 4th through 12th grades are encouraged to audition.
