November 7, 2016

Dear Neighbors

Welcome to our continued eventful November.  Tomorrow is the last voting day this year!  Finally, an end to the robophone calls and constant political commercials is near.  The closest Yavapai County Vote Center to us is at the Beaver Creek Adult Center which is open from 6 AM to 7 PM.  You may also vote (just once) at any other vote center in the county.

On Wednesday is the Veterans Day Concert at Beaver Creek School.  The students appreciate having veterans and their family members attend to be honored.  On Friday is a FEE FREE day at all National Parks.  At Montezuma Castle, there is a special Veterans Day Ceremony in conjunction with the VV Marine Corps League. The VV Humane Society is sponsoring Paws for Patriots which provides free adoptions.  On Saturday morning VV Ancestral Gardens could use some help in cleaning their Adopt-A-Road area on Beaver Creek Rd.  And the Friends of Beaver Creek Library have their terrific annual meeting on Sunday.  If you want to be included in the raffle drawing, please RSVP today.  The details for the above events are below as usual.

The regularly scheduled activities and meetings include LMPOA, BC Kiwanis, LMWCC, a Golden Gulch Overlook Hike (note time change to 9 AM), VV Photographic Society and the free food distribution at Beaver Creek School.  All are informative and/or interesting.

Christmas House opens in December at 3095 E Beaver Creek Rd in between Kiwanis Clothes Closet and Small Engine Repair.  Starting this week, donated items may be dropped at KCC from 10 AM to 3 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Kiwanis and Key Club (high school students) hope to make a wonderful Christmas for 10 families with young children.  From the outside of the building, the beautiful mural painted by Eileen Conn can be seen which guides us to the Christmas House.
See you in the neighborhood,
