In My Weakness, You are My Strength!          By Alan C. Miller
My book has finally arrived.  Book is a bit of an exaggeration; it is more of a devotional.  It is my journal written during the first eight months of my treatments for thymic carcinoma.  It is the story of finding the grace of God in the midst of cancer.  All proceeds from the book are going to Sloan Kettering Hospital for rare cancer research.  You can pick one up at the Conference Office for $10.00, or call  (610-826-3113) or email us ( ) and we will send you one for $11.00; make sure you include the shipping address.

Children's Sermon
for  April 16 (Easter)
Items needed:  One hardboiled egg, one raw egg(mark with pencil so you know which is which); pot with water in it, candle, metal cookie sheet; newspaper or plastic to protect floor from splatter.  Beforehand, put cookie sheet on floor with newspaper or tarp underneath.  Tell kids you are going to tell them the story of Eggwina (hold up hardboiled egg)  and Eggbert (hold up raw egg.)  Ask a kid to hold pot with water--this pot represents prayer.  Put candle underneath pot--see, this candle is the Spirit of the living Jesus.  When we pray and give our lives to Jesus in prayer (put Eggwina in pot), the Spirit  works to change us. Take Eggwina out of pot--see, Eggwina doesn't look any different, but the Spirit works to change her, on the  inside.  So, day after day,  Eggwina would pray (put her in pot, take out, repeat several time.)  Praying didn't change the way Eggwina looks, but the Spirit of the living Jesus (point to candle) made Eggwina stronger on the inside.  Meanwhile, Eggbert  said he didn't need to pray, praying was for  "weak" people.  So, Eggbert just stayed busy all the time (move raw egg around several places.  But then, something happened to Eggbert and Eggwina---(hold both eggs high up over cookie sheet, then drop them.  Both Eggbert and Eggwina had bad things happen which made them feel like they  had been dropped.  See what happens to Eggwina( point to cracked shell)--she is hurt, but the Spirit of Jesus has made her stronger on the inside.  But look at poor Eggbert--he has been broken-what a mess!  When we pray and try to give our lives to the living Jesus, it doesn't change the way we look, but Jesus makes us stronger on the inside.
