Two Important Reminders about the PNEC Annual Meeting on April 29th
1.    The delegates will be asked to act on the resolution: "A Vision for a New Eastern PA Conference of the United Church of Christ."  This resolution comes from the Transition Team that is having conversations about the future of the Penn Northeast Conference and the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference.  The Team is comprised of four members from each conference's Board of Directors.  At our Annual Meeting you will hear a report from the Transition Team and be asked to act on the Resolution.  This same resolution will be going to the Annual Meeting of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference.  The Resolution affirms the discussions that are taking place and affirms that we want to continue with conversations about possibilities for the future.  This resolution is not a vote to merge but simply an affirmation to continue the dialogue.  Copies of the resolution have already been sent to all of the churches and will be sent to all of the delegates with the Advance Reports.
2.   During lunch there will be five workshop opportunities:
a.    A Question & Answer Session with our Keynote Speaker: Robert Naylor.
b.   Learn more about the Clinic that the PNEC Amigos are building in Guatemala.
c.     Learn more about the work of the PNEC Disaster Response Ministry Team.
d.    Learn more about the discussions taking place between the PSEC & PNEC Conferences. - Led by
members of the Transition Team.
e.   Updates on the work of the wider UCC and what to expect at this summer's General Synod. - Led by Geoff
Brace, a member of our Conference who is on the United Church of Christ Board of Directors
"Can you help us make a difference?"
The Amigos de Guatemala are desperately looking for two individuals with at least some construction experience to take part in a one-week support trip to Monte Margarita.  These individuals would be asked to work side by side with our partners in Monte Margarita to build walls and help troubleshoot any construction issues that may arise during the week.  The trip will take place either the last week in May or, if necessary, in June.  Given the tight schedule, preference  is for individuals who already have passport.  Additional details and background info will be provided.  If interested, please contact Karen Heim at or 610-481-9704.

Children's Sermon
for April 30 (based on Luke 24:13-35):   Items Needed:  empty picture frame, towel: picture of Jesus.  Beforehand, put towel over empty picture frame.  Show kids picture of Jesus and ask who it is.  Tell kids you have another picture of Jesus, under this  towel, that you would like to show them.  Ask one of kids to hold the (covered) empty picture frame right in front of their face.  Then tell everyone that, now, you will take the cover off this picture of Jesus.  Remove towel to reveal child's face showing through frame---here's another picture of Jesus!  Today's Bible reading is about how followers of  Jesus can see Jesus now that He has risen.  In the Bible reading, Jesus's followers are able to see Jesus when Jesus has Communion with them.  Another way to see Jesus today is when we look into the faces of the people around us-our friends, our teachers, our families and neighbors.  Where have you seen Jesus in the face of another person?
