All Aboard Florida plans to block Okeechobee Boulevard at the Florida East Coast Railway tracks beginning Friday at 8 p.m. and ending Tuesday, May 17, at 6 p.m.

Megan Rogers is the recipient of this year's college scholarship award sponsored by the Palm Beach Civic Association and the Citizens' Association of Palm Beach. 

Megan is the daughter of Telecommunicator Monique Rogers and her husband Robert. Mrs. Rogers has been with the Town of Palm Beach since 2006.

Pension Plan for Police, Firefighters
Cops and fire dept The Town Council voted Tuesday to adopt a new pension benefit plan in hopes of improving recruitment and retention of employees in the Fire-Rescue and Police departments, where deep pension cuts enacted in 2012 triggered an exodus of workers.

On Tuesday, the Town Council deferred the issue to June after Councilman Dick Kleid said some people needed for the discussion - Bill Bone, landscape designer Jorge Sanchez and stairs opponent Anne Pepper - are out of town.

The idea of a smoking ban on town beaches has, well, gone up in smoke. Officers were prepared to consider the prohibition after some residents complained about cigarette butts littering the shore and of the health hazards of second-hand smoke, Town Manager Tom Bradford said.

Project managers from the Flagler Bridge construction site presented an update to the Town Council this week.
 
They showed the detours necessary at Flagler Drive on the west end so the east bound ramp could be constructed and the old flyover demolition.
