Megan Rogers is the recipient of this year's college scholarship award sponsored by the Palm Beach Civic Association and the Citizens' Association of Palm Beach.
Megan is the daughter of Telecommunicator Monique Rogers and her husband Robert. Mrs. Rogers has been with the Town of Palm Beach since 2006.
The Town Council voted Tuesday to adopt a new pension benefit plan in hopes of improving recruitment and retention of employees in the Fire-Rescue and Police departments, where deep pension cuts enacted in 2012 triggered an exodus of workers.
Town Defers Memorial Fountain Stairs Issue to June
On Tuesday, the Town Council deferred the issue to June after Councilman Dick Kleid said some people needed for the discussion - Bill Bone, landscape designer Jorge Sanchez and stairs opponent Anne Pepper - are out of town.
