Be a Village Person!

This Week in Westville is your go-to source for news, events, activities and goings-on in the Westville community. Like NPR and other user-supported media, much of our operations rely on the support of our "local listeners" - you, the reader. In order for the Westville Village Renaissance Alliance to continue providing this valuable community service, we ask you to donate or join WVRA as a Village Person today! Beyond the e-news, WVRA is working every day to make Westville a brighter, safer, more vibrant place to be. To learn more about our Main Street program initiatives, from community and cultural activities, economic revitalization, traffic-calming, historic preservation, and other quality of life efforts, click HERE.

NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS

LOTTA GETS LOCALLY LIT
April 4, The Arts Paper, by Lucy Gellman- "A winding, narrow road in snowy Pennsylvania, with a curious inn alongside it. A psychiatric hospital in the sticky New York City Summer of 1965. A small family in Poland or Russia, scrambling to finish cooked oil-flecked, gristly angel meat before midnight. These worlds collided Tuesday night in Westville, as the inaugural Local Lit at Lotta unfolded at The Range at Lotta Studio. Curated by writers Rebekah Fraser and Erin Townsend, the series features three writers per session, who present works of published or unpublished prose and receive audience feedback. Tuesday brought writers Robert Beech, Annita Sawyer and Charles Rafferty to the stage. The next event takes place at Lotta Studio on June 5 at 7 p.m. The deadline for submissions is May 1..." PHOTOGRAPHERS CAPTURE PEOPLE OUT OF PLACE
April 10, 2018, The New Haven Independent, by Brian Slattery- "At first glance the cityscape looks deserted. It could be a ruin of an old city, or one abandoned due to conflict. But look closer - much closer - and you can see that there are indeed people there. Someone putting out laundry on one of those miniscule rooftops. Someone else on one of the walkways meandering between the buildings..." Click HERE to comment and read full article.
