Planting Seeds
Sunday, April 2
During Sunday school on April 2nd in Parish Hall, kids will be planting vegetable seeds that will then be placed under our grow lights.  Dress accordingly! On Sunday, May 21 st at noon we hope to plant our seedlings at Ross Farms in Basking Ridge. The vegetables will eventually be donated to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County and God's Co-op Food Pantry of Bernardsville and Basking Ridge.

Grace Soup Kitchen
Friday, March 31
Grace Soup Kitchen serves 1,000 hot nutritious meals the last five days of each month to the hungry of Plainfield.  St. John on the Mountain parishioners help on the last Friday of each month.  Join us one Friday as we prepare and serve lunch. The next day scheduled for St. John on the Mountain to serve is on Friday, March 31st from 10 am - 1 pm.  To sign-up email  Graham Argent-Belcher.

Easter Ham Collection
Help stock the Somerset County Food Bank with Easter hams.  The Outreach Committee is gladly accepting hams every Sunday through April 9. All hams will be donated to the Food Bank in Somerville.  Any questions? Contact Sue Kennedy at 908-234-0367.

Altar Guild Meeting
Sunday, April 2
Members of the Altar Guild will meet Sunday, April 2nd at 11:30 in the Sanctuary.
April Food Bank Staffing
St. John parishioners will staff the Food Bank Pantry each Saturday during the month of April from 9:15 am to noon. Located at the United Reformed Church, 100 West Main Street in Somerville.  All are invited, including older children, to help interview clients, bag and distribute food. Click here to sign up. Adopt a Family for Easter
Help a struggling family this Easter, by providing an uncooked meal.  It's easy!  Just buy the makings for a meal, and deliver to your Adopt-a-Family. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. For more information, contact Please call Sue Kennedy at 908-234-0267. If there is a particular family that you have been supporting, please let Sue know so that she can inform the Food Bank.

Easter Plants, Flowers & Music Contributions
St. John on the Mountain is now accepting contributions for Easter plants, flowers, and special music.  Gifts may be given either as memorials or in thanksgiving.  So that we can publish all names in the Easter bulletins, we ask that you send in your donations by Thursday, April 5th.  If you would like to contribute, please complete a  form  and return it to the Parish Office, along with a check made payable to St. John on the Mountain, with a note in the memo section:  Easter Flowers and Music.  If you have any questions, please email the  Parish Office  or call (908) 766-2282.
The Paschal Triduum

The Clergy and Wardens of St. John on the Mountain, Bernardsville and St. Mark's, Basking Ridge request the honor of your presence at the Paschal Triduum. Families are enthusiastically welcome at each service.

Evening Prayer & Potluck Supper
Wednesday, April 5
On Wednesday, April 5 at 6:00 pm join us for our final Potluck Supper of this Lenten season. Bring a simple dish to share with members of our community. Afterwards, join us at at 7:00 pm for Evening Prayer in the Church. We will use a simple musical setting by Marty Haugen called the Holden Evening Prayer. Originally developed for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) it has widely become ecumenical in use. The service will last about 20 minutes.

Sunday School Lenten Campaign
Sunday school children are supporting local Girl Scout Troop 60111 by collecting supplies for a children's play center to be built at Grace's Kitchen in Plainfield.  The following items are still needed and can be dropped off in the chapel on Sunday mornings or in the church office during weekdays:  coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, puzzles, simple crafts, books, dolls, and action figures.  The last day to donate is Easter Sunday.

Spring Fundraiser

Vacation Bible School
June 26- June 30
Children ages 3 through rising 4th graders are invited to join us June 26-June 30 for summer camp.  Kids will learn, create, and have fun! Join us for sports, games, music, snacks, Bible stories, and cool crafts.  The cost is $60 per child (with a $150 cap per family). Click here for registration form. Teen and adult volunteers are needed. For more info, email Lynn Mitchell.
