Holding House

Sebura&Gartelmann's solo exhibition Two Men Walk Into a Bar uses their collaboration as a platform to examine issues of personal communication, physical contact and social expectations of masculinity. The joke as a aesthetic form acts as a loose framework; slapstick, irony, and humor allow meaning to develop slowly and assists in subverting the viewer's expectations of material and process.
