Massachusetts Elementary School Principals' Association
MESPA Monday Memo
June 5, 2017
From the Executive Director:
MESPA Blog: The Year in Review
Until the hectic pace of June took over, the MESPA Blog has faithfully featured a new post each week usually written by principals from around the Commonwealth with an occasional guest blogger mixed in.

In the spirit of providing inspiration to help you barrel through June, I wanted to highlight a few of the most widely read and inspiring posts from the past year. Here’s a sampling of five – with five more to follow next week.   And a special shout-out to Julie, who managed the blog each week and provided a vehicle for so many principals to tell their stories.

Thank you to all who contributed posts this year.  Keep them coming next year!

Watch for your MSAA Membership Enrollment!
This week, current MESPA members will receive a letter and enrollment form in the US mail inviting you to join the new PK-12 Massachusetts School Administrators Association (MSAA).   Please be sure to submit this for processing as you prepare for next year.     Note that this year’s payment will be made to the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators Association (MSSAA) because the new name (MSAA) will not take effect until after August 1st, 2017.

Sign Up For a Committee
Members are also invited to sign up to serve on a committee – as a new way to get involved and connect with colleagues at all levels. The Committee sign-up can be found at:

Meeting dates will be provided well in advance. The first meeting of all standing committees is MSSAA Convocation, September 19, 2017 in Franklin.

A new Elementary Committee will plan professional learning and support opportunities geared toward elementary members. Continuing committees include: Middle Level, Assistant Principals, Urban, Teaching & Learning, Educational Policies, Legislative, and Retired. Information about these committees can be found at the “Committees” tab on the MSSAA home page:
