Dear Neighbors

Thank you to those who helped to reunite the "Found Dog" with her owner who had been searching during the night.  With your information, it took only two hours for her to get back home.  POBs (pats on back)!

The bird walk times are changing to 8 AM meet time starting in April at both Montezuma Well and Tuzigoot.  Volunteers are needed to help with the Traditional Use Garden at Montezuma Well.  It you are interested, the information flyer is below. 

Tomorrow is the Deer Run Springs restoration project which will be accessed via the new Golden Gulch Trail.  In the afternoon are two tours of the Sedona Sky Academy whose main building was once occupied by the infamous Ned Warren.  Tour tickets are still available.   Information on both is below. 

And don't miss out on the FREE Dump Days which will be gone by quickly.  They are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through April 8.

Last Weekend in March Special Events 

Saturday, 3/25--Deer Run Springs Restoration.   This is an all day project to plant vegetation and build reinforcing structures at Deer Run Springs near the Golden Gulch Trailhead.  Beaver Creek Trails Coalition invites community members to take this opportunity to assist in a valuable Coconino Forest Service project at an important local spring.  There will be planting, rock moving and construction of erosion protection.  Junior high and high school students are welcome to participate.  Meet at the junction of Deer Run Trail and Calamity Jane at 9 AM.  Parking is limited.  Please consider carpooling from Sycamore Park.  Come with sturdy clothes, gloves, water, and food.  Tools, hard hats and materials will be provided by the Forest Service.  Please contact Amina Sena at 928-203-2907 or [email protected] or locally contact [email protected]g   for more information.  (See flyer below)

Saturday, March 25th--SEDONA SKY ACADEMY TOUR.   Choose the time best for you...1 PM or 2:30 PM.  Tours will last 1 hour.  Meet at the little church on the Sedona Sky campus, 3095 Coronado Trail, Lake Montezuma.  It's important to be punctual.  BCPHS members, $7, non-members, $10.  All proceeds will benefit the Beaver Creek Preservation and Historical Society.  Tickets available at the Beaver Creek Adult Center or at the tour.  More information?  Call 567-4648.  (See flyer below)

Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays, 3/23 thru 4/8--Free Dump Days  at the Camp Verde Transfer Station, 2600 E. Hwy 260, 7 miles East of I-17 from 8 AM to 4 PM. Accepted items are: household appliances, bagged trash, auto batteries, unmounted tires, furniture, and yard trimmings. Items that will not be accepted: loose trash, liquids, hazardous materials, cars, Ni Cad batteries, dead animals and any commercial dumping.  For additional information please contact the Yavapai County Public Works Solid Waste Division at 928-771-M3183. Monday, 3/27-Walk With an Archeologist at Montezuma Castle, 1 PM.   The National Park Service is offering this special tour in recognition of Arizona Archeology and Heritage Awareness.  Please call 567-5276 ext 222 for further information.

Sedona Sky Academy Tour

On Saturday, March 25 th , the Creek Preservation and Historical Society (BCPHS) will sponsor two small-group tours of the private academy, Sedona Sky, located at 3095 Coronado Trail, Lake Montezuma. (lower Lake Montezuma off of Montezuma Ave.) 

The first one-hour tour will begin at 1 p.m.   The second one-hour tour will begin at 2:30 p.m.  The tour will include the former home of Ned Warren, infamous land developer in the '50's and '60's,  currently the administration building for the Academy. Fascinating stories of the property's past will be revealed and inspiring information about the Academy's present academic and therapy programs will be shared by Rod Adams, Director.

Please arrive a few minutes prior to the tour time you have chosen.  We'll meet in the little white church on the property. Wear comfortable shoes.  Water will be provided.
Tickets are $7.00 for BCPHS members and $10.00 for non-members.  Tickets available at the Beaver Creek Adult Center or at the door.  For more info, call 567-4648.  All proceeds to BCPHS for various projects.   Hope to see you there!
