This Weekend in Beaver Creek

November 27, 2015

Dear Neighbors
Looks like this weekend and all of next week will be sunny and cool, perfect fall weather for raking up leaves and getting out to enjoy events, other chores, and going to work.

Beaver Creek School Superintendent Karin Ward sends out the word that the BC School Team was very pleased with the response for turkeys from the Beaver Creek Community, the Verde Valley, and St Mary's Food Bank on helping to provide Holiday Meat for the BC Food bank community families.  The BC Food Bank is now able to meet commitments for November and December.  Special thanks to John Ask, Kiwanis members and Vintages staff.

On Saturday, tomorrow, please get out and enjoy the Classic Car & Truck Show in McGuireville, the Rimrock Writers meeting in the BC Public School Library, and the afternoon and evening entertainment at Montezuma Castle.

Saturday, 11/28-Second Annual Classic Car & Truck Cruizin' will be held in McGuireville from 9 AM to 3 PM.  (See article below.)
Saturday, 11/28-The Rimrock Writers meet at 10 AM in the BC Public School Library conference room.  All types of writing are encouraged.  Please check [email protected]    for the details.

Historic McGuireville set to SHINE on Small Business Saturday
Contributed by Candy Hammond

The McGuireville Merchants team up with the Classic Treasure Car Club to host the second annual Classic Car and Truck Cruizin', in McGuireville, on Small Business Saturday, November 28 from 9am -3 pm.  Watch McGuirville glisten from the chrome and fancy paint jobs, as the classic cars and trucks pull-in to line the street.  You will feel the rumble of real American muscle cars and even the soft patter of a 1927 Model T Pickup.  Small Business Saturday is the equivalent of the corporate Black Friday and Cyber Monday events sponsored by big box retail and e-commerce stores with huge budgets.  However, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize locally owned small businesses, where your money makes a difference and you get a experience that lasts a lifetime. Keep your money here in the Verde by buying local.  This is a drop in event so if you have a car or pickup you'd like to show, please bring it!   No Need to speed but "Hot Rod" on down with your family and friends to rediscover Historic McGuireville - and do a little LOCAL Christmas shopping while you're there!   Call Candy Hammond at 602-402-9075 or [email protected] for details.
