MES Field Day at the Plex is Coming 6/1!


Our Field Day is like no other - an all day, off site event!

Matsunaga is proud to partner with the Maryland SoccerPlex for the fourth year to bring you this exciting day filled with games, activities, food, fun, and more!
Boxed lunches are provided for all students, staff, and full day volunteers! We will have many volunteer opportunities so please save the date!  Permission slips and lunch order forms will be sent home following spring break. Volunteer sign ups will begin after break as well.

SGA A Wider Circle Donation Drive 4/3-6
SGA A Wider Circle Donation Drive
Spark M. Matsunaga Elementary will be holding a drive!

We want to make sure all of our neighbors have enough food and other basic need items to live well.
The drive will be held between April 3rd- 6th. Please drop off items at Matsunaga Elementary School. Students can bring the items to school and drop the items in the boxes located in their hallway!   

This drive will benefit A Wider Circle, a local organization that works to help individuals and families rise out of poverty.
Needed items:

Household and personal care items are the highest priority. These items include toilet paper (individually wrapped), paper towels, all-purpose cleaners, soaps (bar, shower gel, or hand soap), toothpaste/toothbrushes, shampoo/conditioner, and deodorant. NO RAZORS!

Healthy, non-perishable food: Whole grain pasta, low-sodium canned beans, brown rice, low-sodium canned fruits & vegetables, 100% fruit juice (e.g., juice boxes), peanut butter, whole grain cereals, and shelf-stable soy/rice/almond milks.
Yearbook - now through 4/5
There's still time to order your personalized yearbook.

The 2016-2017 Matsunaga/Longview Yearbook is on sale through  April 5th, 2017!

After that date, you will have to wait to purchase a yearbook in June.

Yearbooks purchased in June will not be personalized and will be sold on a first come/first served basis.

Register For Kindergarten - 4/5, 6
Have a neighbor with a child who is of the age to Kindergarten this fall? According to Maryland State Law, a child must by five years old by  September 1, 2017 in order to enter Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year. 

Kindergarten Orientation for Matsunaga will take place April 5th and April 6th. Please share this information with neighbors who have children eligible for Kindergarten in the fall and ask them to call the main office at 301-601-4350 to make arrangements to register.

An AMVETS donation truck will be on site after the sale to collection unsold/unwanted items.
