Schools are closed Monday, April 10th through Monday, April 17th for Spring Break.
 
School will reopen on Tuesday, April 18th.


MES Wins 2nd Place School Trophy at Roberto Clemente Chess Tournament
Jordan Go (4th Grade), Andy Wu (3rd Grade), Armaan Jain (3rd Grade), and Dhruv Srivastava (2nd Grade) won for Matsunaga Elementary School, the 2nd place School Trophy at the Roberto Clemente Classic Chess Tournament on Saturday, 4/1/17. 

Andy won 4 out of 4 games in the Under 400 Category and received a 1st place Individual trophy.  Jordan won 3 out of 4 games in the Under 700 Intermediate Category and received a 3rd place Individual trophy.  The competition was open to K-8th grade students and the pairings were based on their USCF (US Chess Federation) ratings.  The boys had to play against elementary grade, as well as middle school-aged kids who were within the same USCF rating as they were!  They all did a great job playing their very best.
MES Field Day at the Plex is Coming 6/1!


Our Field Day is like no other - an all day, off site event!

Matsunaga is proud to partner with the Maryland SoccerPlex for the fourth year to bring you this exciting day filled with games, activities, food, fun, and more!
Boxed lunches are provided for all students, staff, and full day volunteers! We will have many volunteer opportunities so please save the date!  Permission slips and lunch order forms will be sent home following spring break. Volunteer sign ups will begin after break as well.

You don't want to miss this event!

SGA A Wider Circle Donation
Thank you to all who donated to the SGA's drive to collect items for A Wider Circle. The response was overwhelming and will make a difference in the lives of many in the community.

BOGO Bookfair
Scholastic BOGO Book Fair
Coming April 24-26 - A great way to stock up on books for Summer reading.
 
5th Grade Mixer  Friday, May 5th  
6:30 - 8:30 Kingsview Middle School
A special event for 5th grade students and parents, hosted by KMS.
Please come tour your new school, make some new friends, and meet some the amazing staff!
(Parents must attend with their child, no drop-offs, please.)
