A WORD FROM THE RECTOR

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have
made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent:  Create and
make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily
lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness,
may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission
and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever
and ever.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Many thanks to Andy Quintana and his team of excellent cooks for our Annual Meeting! The breakfast was great, and we accomplished everything in record time. Our Treasurer Lin Banks presented our 2017 financials and our 2018 Budget. Riley Stephens and Don Ward gave the wardens' reports. We elected four new members of the vestry: John Schmid, Trey Burdick, Mike Hicks and Shane Carpenter. We are grateful for the service of Riley Stevens, Rob Hoover, George Wayne and Stuart Sliva, who went off the vestry.

The lenten season is an opportunity to take a spiritual journey, to prepare our hearts to embrace the mystery of Christ's sufferings for the salvation of the world. It is a time when Christians have traditionally sought to draw closer to God through increased disciplines of prayer, reading of the Bible and other spiritual books, and fasting.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday , and we will have the following services of Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes:
  • 8 a.m. - Parish School Chapel
  • 10 a.m. - Spanish Service
  • 12 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. English Service
Every Wednesday following Ash Wednesday, we will have a noontime service followed by the Forty Day Cafe, a lenten light lunch. Please join us!

Save the date for our  Spring Outreach  March 12 through 16. Our Youth Group will be joining with many other junior high and high school students for a week of worship, witness and ministry.
Speaking of our youth group, Kristie Cossel and Adam Drake are desperately in need of adult volunteers who love teens! If you are able to help with this vital ministry, please contact Kristie at

May we all have a holy and blessed Lent,

Bill Cobb+

GriefShare 3.0 is at 1:30 PM on Wednesdays, in the conference room at the church and conclude on February 28, 2018. This is an opportunity to begin at the beginning. However, interested parties are reminded that they can join at any time. The important thing is to know one does not need to wait if they are struggling with the emotions of a loss.

GriefShare is a Bible-based Christian walk through this journey. Use of videos, printed materials and sharing allows one to heal at their required pace. The only charge is $15.00 for the workbook, and you do not need to be a member of St. Clement. Attendance is open to one and all. For more information, contact Linda Kaip, 915-539-1265.
Youth Group meets every Wednesday at 6:00 PM
