This Week's Reflections on Passover ...

   "Let all who are hungry, come and eat;
let all who are needy come and celebrate Passover."

                                       Passover Haggadah

Families and friends will be celebrating the first night of Passover

with a Seder at their homes next week on Friday, April 3rd.

Passover is a time to welcome the stranger. If you are in need of a

family to celebrate the Passover Seder with, or if you are willing to

open your home to someone who needs a place to go, please contact

Rabbi Andrew Klein so the matches can be made.

A Zeisen Pesach (a sweet Passover) to all,

  Rabbi Andrew Klein

"Life in a Jar: The Irene Sendler Project"
Veritas Auditorium, Elms College
Chicopee, MA
Sunday, March 29th @ 1:30 pm
Next Sunday, March 29th at 1:30 pm, Elms College in Chicopee, MA will host the Western Massachusetts premiere of Life in a Jar: The Irene Sendler Project, a play about young Polish Holocaust heroine Irena Sendler, who saved 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto by organizing an underground network to smuggle the children to safety.

Written by high school students in Kansas, this play has led to the publication of a book, the founding of an international award and the production of an Emmy-winning TV movie. Because the story had started to spread, Sendler herself was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

This production represents a strong local interfaith collaboration between Elms College, the Jewish Federation and prominent Polish organizations - which is fitting because Sendler was Catholic and the children she saved were Jewish.

Bloom - Youth in Action
Thursday, April 9th
Hi everyone!

Spring is finally in air, and we're ready to celebrate! Many of you  have probably heard me talk about Youth In Action, the youth leadership organization where I work. We've been working really hard over the past few months and are so excited to share all that we've been doing! On April 9, we are hosting an event at Fete Music in Providence! Not only are my awesome coworkers and YIA's amazing youth going to be there - there will also be local food, drinks, a fun (youth built) photo booth and a silent auction - and I will even be auctioned off! (Yes, you read that right...youcan bid on me!) VIP cocktail hour starts at 5, and the event starts at 6. It would mean a lot if you could join me. I'm excited to share my work and this night with you! You can get your ticket at:

Thank you for all of your support and I can't wait to see you there in a few weeks!

Social Justice Advocacy Day:
Learning and Acting with the URJ RAC
Sunday, April 12th - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Temple Shalom of Newton

Join the Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island URJ Community and our partners at the Religious Action Center as we learn new and effective ways to take part in Jewish social justice work. With Isaac Nuell, Manager of Congregational Social Action at the RAC, we'll explore the advocacy opportunities and creative ways to implement our new skills in our congregations and communities.

Synagogue members are invited to join with social justice leaders from the 41 Reform synagogues in our region to learn about important global, national and local issues and how to advocate effectively both as Reform Jews and as concerned citizens. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and share ideas and resources regarding social justice initiatives.

The RAC is the social justice arm of the Reform Movement. The Eastern MA and RI Community fosters events that strengthen synagogues and connect geographically close ones.

The event is open to any congregant interested in the collective work of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and launching local initiatives. The cost of the program is $36 per person.
