Theater Talk with hosts Susan Haskins and Michael Riedel
Join us for a televised tour of Star Quality: The World of Noël Coward, an exhibition running through August 18th at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Coward scholar Barry Day, along with Geoffrey Johnson, Noël Coward's friend and American representative, lead us through this captivating exploration of the great playwright, composer, director, actor and singer.
Theater Talk is a series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993 and is co-hosted by Michael Riedel (Broadway columnist for the New York Post) and series producer Susan Haskins. The series is produced by Theater Talk Productions, a not-for-profit corporation and is funded by contributions from private foundations and individuals, as well as The New York State Council on the Arts.
Theater Talk airs every Saturday at 8:30 pm, Sunday at 12:30 pm and Monday at 7:30 am, 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm. (30 minutes)

ATW's Working in the Theatre
The American Theatre Wing's panel discussion series, Working in the Theatre, brings together performers, directors, playwrights, designers, choreographers and behind-the-scenes personnel from the Broadway theatre. CUNY TV currently airs five recent seminars every week, and the series can also be seen on Cablevision's Metro Guide and cable systems in California.
This week, join us for "Exploring Musical Theatre." The challenges and triumphs facing musical theatre today, both on and off Broadway, are discussed by actress Heidi Blickenstaff, Tony award winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli and Tony award winning composer and lyricist Robert Lopez. The conversation, moderated by Julie James, also takes an in-depth look at the status of musicals today; early influences on our guests that led them to theatre; and the impact current television programming has on stage musicals.

D.O.A
The best in world cinema is showcased in this regular series. Each film is followed by lively discussion with scholars, film professionals or critics, hosted by Professor Jerry Carlson.
This month, we present "Post War American Crime Films." This week's film is D.O.A, directed by Rudolph Maté, and starring Edmond O'Brien, Pamela Britton, Luther Adler, and William Ching. A man with only hours to live scours the L.A. underworld in search of the parties who'd poisoned him. The discussion guest is Morris Dickstein, of The CUNY Graduate Center.
D.O.A. airs on Saturday, July 21 at 9:00 pm and on Sunday, July 22 at 9:00 pm.

Morricone Conducts Morricone The Munich Concert
Please join us this week for Morricone Conducts Morricone, a 99- minute concert taped in Munich in 2004. Ennio Morricone conducts the Munich Radio Orchestra and Choir in a performance that features excerpts from 18 of his scores, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Once Upon a Time in America, and A Fistful of Dynamite. Soprano Susanna Rigacci performs the soaring vocal part of the sweeping theme from Once Upon a Time in the West. Other soloists include Ulrich Herkenhoff on panpipes, Henry Raudales on violin, Norbert Merkl on viola and Gilda Butta on piano.
