Your weekly look at what's happening
Last Sunday's service went really great and it was great to see so many of you there. This Sunday is our annual Tri-Lingual Worship Service for World Communion Sunday. A reminder that the service will begin at 10:30 AM and will be followed by lunch at Cameron House. This is always a special service in the life of our congregation so you won't want to miss it.

  Youth Sunday School Class
Our Youth Sunday school class has started meeting for the fall with Tad Hopp as their teacher. Class goes from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Pines Room at Cameron House. The topic this fall will be “How to Be a True Friend” and uses stories from the Biblical witness to talk about the qualities to look for in a friend and the qualities we need to show our friends. You won’t want to miss this class. It is not too late to be a part of it. Just let Tad know that you'd like to come. Lunch will be provided each week by one of our parents.
Mark Your Calendars
Our Tri-lingual Worship Service will be held at Mei Lun Yuen on Sunday, October 1st. The service will begin at 10:30 AM and will be followed by Sabbath Sunday lunch provided by the Session of PCC. Please note the change in location and please plan to join us for this important worship service. We are also looking for volunteers to help set up for the lunch at Cameron House. They need to be at Cameron House at 9:45 to help with set up. If you're interested and available to help, please email Tad Hopp (tad.hopp@pccsf.org) and let him know.
Also, be aware that there is a Street Fair in Chinatown happening this weekend so parking and your access to the area will be severely affected. Please plan your trip to church accordingly.
Peace & Global Witness Offering on World Communion Sunday, October 1st
Be part of the work to proclaim the peace of Christ with sisters and brothers around the world! This special offering supports every level of the Presbyterian Church USA’s work for peace and response to injustice in our own neighborhoods and around the globe. For example, these gifts are used to help provide relief, shelter and hope to families who’ve had to flee their homes because of violence and persecution, and for peace-building ministries, advocacy and education. All loose offering as well as gifts provided in the special offering envelopes on World Communion Sunday, October 1 st , will be contributed to the Peace & Global Witness offering. You can also contribute online at presbyterianmission.org/give/peace-global or text PEACE to 20222 to give $10.
Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief program, enlists volunteer groups to package nutritious dehydrated meals of rice, soy,
vegetables and 23 vitamins and minerals. These meals are shipped overseas to countries of need. Two years ago our packaged meals went to Afghanistan. This year PCC will join with Calvary Presbyterian Church, Christ United Presbyterian Church (CUPC), Old First Presbyterian Church and St. John Presbyterian Church on Saturday October 14, 2017 to package 10,152 meals. Each meal will cost 29 cents and will require each of the five churches to provide $590.00 to cover the cost of supplies. Additionally each church will provide 10 volunteers so that 50 persons
can pack 10,152 meals in 2 hours. We'll start packing meals at 10 AM on
October 14, 2017 at St. John Presbyterian Church located at Lake and
Arguello Streets. Volunteers must sign a Release and Hold Harmless
Agreement Form to participate. If you want to volunteer for the Oct. 14,
2017 Rise Against Hunger event, please get a form from Cindy Joe.
