Proceeds from this screening of local filmmaker Michelle Mower's feature film will benefit the 35 year old SWAMP which aims to support film, video and new media through programs and education.

Panelists include Jennifer Gaines of Buffalo Bayou Partnership; Filo Castore of Perkins+Will; and Joseph Fowler of Forest Design Build. Art21 Season 6 Screening

In partnership with Art21 as part of its Access'12 initiative, Lawndale Art Center presents a sneak preview in advance of the premiere of the sixth season of Art in the Twenty-First Century, the only prime time national television series focused exclusively on contemporary art. In an immersive musical experience, Houston-based composer Robert McClure and the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art present an evening concert that challenges the audience to slow down and listen. McClure will present three pieces that celebrate the Orange Show's unique space and Houston's natural soundscape, featuring performances from University of Houston Faculty Artist in Saxophone, Dan Gelok, percussionist Andrew Keller, and musicians from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

The first "Hot Block on Holman," introduced in April 2011, was a one-day living workshop designed to energize Midtown/Third Ward and to demonstrate how well-designed streets and roads can create safer, more accessible neighborhoods in which to live, play, work and shop. The event coincides with Art in the Park at Elizabeth Baldwin Park and Midtown Visions Art Tour.

They will share creative presentations about their work in an informal atmosphere followed by a question and answer session where the audience can glean further insight into the artist, the artist's aesthetic and creative process.
