Fresh Arts (Spacetaker+Fresh Arts Coalition) hosts photographer & textile designer Jaime Leigh Collier (current exhibiting artist) and multidisciplinary artist John Pluecker at our Artist SPEAKeasy in April. They will share creative presentations about their work in an informal atmosphere followed by a question and answer session where the audience can glean further insight into the artist, the artist's aesthetic and creative process. Wade Wilson Art is pleased to announce Paradoxe Poétique, an exhibition of paintings and photography representing the work of two young French artists, Jean-Baptiste Lyonnet and Antoine Grospiron-Jaccoux. The exhibition offers the Houston arts community a rare opportunity to sample the young French contemporary art scene. This is the first exhibition in the United States for both artists. This presentation of The Frogs is an adaptation by Dr. John Harvey of the UH Honors College and directed by Aaron Landsman (Artist-in-Residence at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts). This workshop will cover identifying grant opportunities, funding through fiscal sponsorship, crowdfunding, individual contributions, and institutional support, and offer examples of how other local artists have successfully raised money for their projects.
