Meet Movement (R)evolution Africa's choreographic trendsetters. Hailing from Senegal to South Africa, the perspectives and creative processes of these dancers and choreographers present fresh images of Africa, and bring to life the continent's contemporary identity.

Mas Fever: Inside Trinidad Carnival

Carnival in the New World is a synthesis of European elements -- Christian traditions and the masquerade -- and African elements -- primarily music and dance. In Trinidad, Carnival is a colorful, exuberant celebration of national focus and pride.

Yoga
YOGA with Jim Thompson:  INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED Classes - Tuesday evenings 5:45 - 7:15; BEGINNING TO INTERMEDIATE "EASY" YOGA Classes - Wednesdays, 5:45-7:15. Tuition: $60 per six week session (or $12 per session). Tuition accepted at the door.

Africa
AFRICAN WORLD HISTORY CLASSTuesdays, 7:30 pm. Instructor/Facilitator Michael Campbell. Provides an ongoing experience of the contributions and achievements Africans and African-Americans have made throughout history. The class uses the historical experiences of African peoples to highlight the cultural values we share. 

Drumming
WEST AFRICAN DRUMMING AND DANCE CLASSES WITH FANA BANGOURA - Drumming: Saturdays, 10:30am-12:00pm at the Baobab. Beginning Feb. 1, classes take place from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Dance: Sundays, from 2:00-3:30pm at DancEncounters, 215 Tremont St. Open to students of all levels.
