What we're watching:

We suck. All of us. We suck because we know that disposable plastic is singularly detrimental to the environment and wildlife, yet we just keep buying and using it. So, #StopSucking! Join us for 'Strawless September' and watch this funny short to get inspired and join the campaign.

What we're reading:

Single-use culture 'may prove that humankind's mindless laziness will, at least in part, lead to its extinction.' This powerful quote from a witty 2016 TIME article  reminds us it's, quite literally, in our hands. The average bag is used for 12 minutes. You don't need a bag!
Quote we're inspired by:

"One individual cannot possibly make a difference, alone. It is individual efforts, collectively, that makes a noticeable difference - all the difference in the world!"

--- Dr. Jane Goodall

The Sustainable Development Goals set forth clear objectives to strive for in solidarity, as a single planet. Today we're thinking about SDG 12, 'Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns,' and SDG 14, 'Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.'

This month, we at the Centre are pledging to join the 'Strawless September' campaign, and are ruminating on plastics and the single-use culture that has taken over so much of the globe, affecting our natural spaces, oceans and wildlife. We're reminded to avoid plastic water bottles, grocery bags, and all other unnecessary consumption that can hurt our fragile global ecosystem.

If you care about the SDGs and want to learn to build sustainability into the very DNA of your organization, consider joining us for the online course Regenerative Leadership ,  starting November 6th.

See you in two weeks for our next Three Thought Thursday!
