What we're watching:
It's all about messaging. How can you convey your unique message to the masses in a catchy, pithy, straight-forward way that will inspire them to action? In this funny 'Follow the Frog' video, Rainforest Alliance has it down pat, and as we get ready for our upcoming online Social Media for Social Innovation course, we're looking back on this fun bit of mission-based publicity as a model for all of us.
What we're reading:
Which stories are worth dying for? This letter to America makes a plea for inclusion and understanding amid the current political landscape, while at the same time cutting to the heart of what we're all about. As we tell our stories and try to change the world for the better, remember your past and be committed to service. That's how we can all make the impact we want in this world.
Quote we're inspired by:

" You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone's soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows what they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift. "

This week, we're thinking about stories. The stories we tell shape perception - how people view us, what we stand for - and they also convey our values and purpose. As changemakers in the world, storytelling is essential. Whether it's looking to stories to digest troubling current events, or using them to build and create our life project in a way that helps others understand the importance of joining our cause, the spoken and written word paint an important picture of the world we see, and the world we want to see in the future. Learn to harness the power of these stories, and learn to change the world.
