Benjamin H. Marshall (1874-1944) was the dashing Beaux Arts architect of Chicago's turn-of-the-century and Jazz Age era. He is also credited with the design of many of Chicago's most notable & iconic buildings, including the Blackstone Hotel and the South Shore Cultural Center. The creator of East Lake Shore Drive and the Drake Hotel (opened New Year's Eve 1920), Benjamin Marshall defined the city we love and enjoy today.

The  Benjamin Marshall Society  was founded in 2002 by Jane & Didier Lepauw to educate the public on the life, works and legacy of architect Benjamin Marshall and to revive his dialogue on the role of architecture in a civic society and in society as a whole.
