UNTITLED | December 2 - 8, 2013 | Booth #B07

Malia Jensen Ryan Mosley
Tierney Gardarin is delighted to participate in the 2nd edition of UNTITLED, Miami from December 2nd through December 8th, 2013. The gallery's booth will feature a selection of works by Ryan Mosley and Malia Jensen.

Using riotous color and a phantasmagoria of form, Mosley's paintings create fantastic spaces where the history of art, commedia dell'arte, and the Wild West cohabitate. An assortment of eccentric and engaging characters dance across picture planes as if they were stage sets, making liberal reference to the burlesque and the litany of artists who have embraced it. Jensen's work encompasses a range of subjects derived from dreams, memories and her own fascination with the pathos and comedy inherent in the natural world. Her sculptures have a Duchampian sensibility, with unexpected, often humorous twists. Both artists use a range of traditional materials to create distinctly unconventional forms verging on the surreal.

Mosley had his first solo exhibition in New York at Tierney Gardarin Gallery this past summer. He has also had solo exhibitions at Eigen + Art in Berlin and Alison Jacques Gallery in London. His work has been featured in numerous international museum exhibitions including Nightfall, Modern Museum, Hungary; London Twelve: Contemporary British Art, City Gallery, Prague; Saatchi Gallery, London and The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia. Mosley lives and works in London.

Jensen had her first solo exhibition in New York at Cristin Tierney Gallery in 2012. She has also had solo exhibitions at Richard Gray Gallery in Chicago and Elizabeth Leach Gallery in Portland. Her work has been exhibited at institutions throughout the United States, including Portland Institute for Contemporary Art; The New Museum, New York; the Tacoma Art Museum; the Holter Museum of Art, Helena; the Portland Art Museum; and the Mesa Arts Center, Arizona. Jensen lives and works in Brooklyn.
