Due to enthusiastic feedback received in response to two IBLCE
surveys exploring the possibility of creating a credential for those providing skilled breastfeeding support to complement the IBCLC
and extend the reach of skilled lactation care, IBLCE is currently seeking volunteers!
Are you interested in perhaps pursuing a credential that might also be used as a stepping stone towards eligibility to the IBCLC? Are you interested in finding out more about a possible certification credential that would complement the IBCLC and extend the reach of skilled lactation care? Do you currently have some time to volunteer?
Building on recent enthusiastic positive survey results, IBLCE is now convening an Advisory Group comprised of individuals who are interested in further exploring and defining such a credential.
IBLCE is seeking a diverse and balanced group including those from a variety of educational backgrounds, number of years' experience in lactation support and geographic and cultural backgrounds to serve on this Advisory Group.
Those with a sincere interest from varied backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply for this new volunteer opportunity including:
- Peer-to-peer support providers such as from WIC, La Leche League or other peer-to-peer groups
- Healthcare providers with an interest in lactation
- Breastfeeding/Lactation support specialists
- Breastfeeding/Lactation specialists
- Breastfeeding educators/counselors
Please carefully note, to be selected for this time-sensitive volunteer assignment, you must be available and commit to attending a one and one-half day in-person meeting in the Greater Washington, D.C. area on Wednesday and Thursday, August 30 and 31.
IBLCE will furnish reasonable airfare, accommodation and all on-site meals at the meeting.
Additional time commitment required will include online meetings approximately once a month for 1-2 hours' duration for approximately six months. English proficiency necessary.
