During Wendy's eleven years as Executive Director, Groundwork Denver has been transformed from a small grassroots organization into a community pillar. Her commitment to lower-income residents, passion for environmental justice, and fearless leadership style has had a deep impact on the Groundwork Denver you see today. Our accomplishments during her tenure include employing over 300 youth, conducting 2,368 home energy audits, facilitating walking, biking, and transit for 5,207 people, cleaning up 75 tons of trash on public lands, and growing more 117,000 pounds of produce. Wendy and her team's impact is, indeed, cause for celebration.
Join us on the evening of December 5, Colorado Gives Day, to honor and thank Wendy for her contributions to our communities. It will be a happy hour-style event for volunteers, partners, funders, people we serve, staff and anyone who feels compelled to wish Wendy well in the next chapter of her life and career.
There will be appetizers and beverages, and heart-felt comradery. Groundwork Denver and its stakeholders are forever grateful for Wendy's vision and leadership, and we look forward to continuing the pursuit of our mission for decades to come.
