I didn't know I needed it until I knew I needed it!
Jennifer Turnbull, Co-Director, Spiral Q

"At Spiral Q we create space for the unknown. You just don't know what you don't know. NELI created that experience for me to feel how critical that space for self-reflection is. Until then I didn't know how desperately I needed someone else to hold that space for me.

The first thing we did at NELI was learn about ourselves. That was incredibly powerful. We also learned about organizational strategy and management, political savvy, diversity and inclusion, finances (all the foundational nonprofit cornerstones). What was so valuable to me is that rather than simply intellectualizing about these topics, we were given the chance to live what we were learning.

Because the training takes place over the course of several months, you're given the time to process and understand what you've learned. You're given opportunities to experiment with your cohort, and then you go back to your organization and try it on over the next months to see how it can all fit together.  I learned what I wanted to learn and learned what I didn't expect to learn. I had a great time!"
