A few days ago I received a Christmas card from Josh with words of love and encouragement.
As I sit here tonight I was thinking about all the cards that I know he has taken time to send something that most of us have quit doing over the years as technology has advanced.
I want to encourage you to buy a card and send one to Joshua thus making this the best Christmas he has had in years.

Last year Josh bought small gifts for as many inmates in the prison as he could.
Maybe not much but when you have nothing anything is great.

Rarely have I ever enjoyed Christmas!!
The WHY'S are myriad, but mainly I hate the idea of "forced" giving.
GIVING because one is "supposed" to?
As Pondered this yesterday, the Lord reminded me of a local Church situated on the main highway to The Atlanta Raceway.
Every year, tens of thousands of people flock to the raceway-traffic is backed up for miles and miles.
That particular year, this Church decided to make homemade sausage and biscuits and sell them to the travelers as they sat trapped in their cars in the early morning commute.
The sold nary a ONE!!!! NOBODY, NOBODY purchased a single sausage and biscuit!!
However, one lady asked to use the Church restroom and as she left, she gave a $20.00 offering-key word-GAVE!!!

GIVING is "supposed" to be JOYFUL!!

OUR Bible aptly declares that We are to GIVE "NOT grudgingly, or of NECESSITY!!!"

Every time I pass a Salvation Army red kettle, I WANT to give!!
I rarely carry any cash and have to remind myself daily when I purchase items to get some cash back.
It is PERSONAL for me now!
Years ago, when Amanda got injured, this same SALVATION ARMY made THREE mortgage payments for me on my home.
Look before you leap, think/PRAY before you give!!!
I used to believe that once I GAVE the monies/effort/time, etc. was no longer my responsibility.
I GAVE and it was up to the recipient to answer to God for.
I no longer believe that way!
Suppose YOU gave to a charity claiming to build an orphanage in Haiti?
For many years YOU gave and then decided you wanted to SEE this orphanage YOU had FAITHFULLY given to.
YOU flew to Haiti and sadly discovered there was NO orphanage????
