Tithing! 6/14/17
Malachi 3:10 (KJV)
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

As I began my "daily-(I WISH?)" journey of the local treadmill, I heard the SWEET Voice of God instructing me to preach on TITHING today.
TITHING is NOT a dirty or bad word.
A few days ago a BELOVED friend and counselor inquired of me as to whether I considered my life cursed??
She, having also endured great loss and tribulation in her life well knew the cost of discipleship.
I quickly answered, "NO -in fact I consider my life to be BLESSED!!!!!!!"
I concur with King David:
Psalm 37:25 (KJV)
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Some wise sage made the statement:
"
YOUTH IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG!"
And Rod Stewart warbled:
"
I WISH I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW-WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!!!"
Amen to that!!!

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
MANY years ago I made the decision to follow God and HEED His Holy Word and Commandments!
One of which is found in the Old Testament:

I also learned long ago that:
"
COMMITMENT is not taught but must be CAUGHT!!!"
TITHING was strongly taught in the Church I was raised in and quickly I adhered to its TRUTH!
I became a faithful tither.
I knew early on in my Christian walk that God had "called" me into full time ministry.
In 1971 God CALLED me to His Service but it was 10 years later that I became a full time minister, wholly relying on God to "supply my needs."
I left my full time employment with the United States Post Office and followed God.
As Tina Turner might say, "I have a good job in the city!"
I "left" a safe and secure life long employment that included a good salary, paid holidays, ample sick leave, FREE Blue Cross/Blue Shield health and life insurance AND 6 weeks yearly PAID vacation.
When times got rough over the many years since, satan would often sneer at me and remind me what I "gave up" to follow God.
satan would mock me and challenge me to stop GIVING my TITHES and OFFERINGS to God and tend to my needs and the needs of my growing family.
There were many times we did "do without" but, PRAISE GOD, I continued to "pay my tithe!"
YES, I did leave "a good job in the city," BUT I joined God in Heavenly Blessings!!!!

God will:
"
OPEN YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN, AND POUR YOU OUT A BLESSING, THAT THERE SHALL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT!"
Then, and ONLY then shall WE be able to claim with David:
