January 11, 2018
  Greetings!
Westfield is currently accepting admission application for new students for the 2018-2019 school year. Several grades for next year including Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th are anticipated to be at or near full capacity. If you have children whom you are considering enrolling as new Westfield students in these grades for next year, we strongly recommend that you begin the online admission application process as soon as possible at http://www.westfieldschool.org/admissions/apply.cfm

The re-enrollment process for students who are currently enrolled in Westfield will begin in early February. Please watch your email for re-enrollment information and instructions.

Please help us spread the word by inviting families whom you know may be interested in a Westfield education for their children to our Admission Open House for prospective students and families on Sunday, January 28th at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall (Arts & Sciences building). This is a great time for interested families to learn more about what it means to be a Westfield Hornet! #discoverwestfield #beahornet

Mrs. Caulley, Westfield French teacher, is the author of Jack’s Journey: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Mission , a book based upon the lives of her own parents who were missionaries in France. She shared her life-long love for reading, writing, and storytelling, and how she became a published author. #educationofmindandheart
French Students Choose Kings for the Day
Les etudiants Francais choisit les rois pour le jour
Students in Mrs. Caulley’s Middle and Upper School French classes are celebrating the Epiphany (twelfth day of Christmas). In France, the Epiphany celebration includes the “galette des rois”, a king cake, which is eaten on January 6th. It is also the custom in France to “tirer les rois” (choose a king of the day). Westfield students in each class have had so much fun today eating king cake and crowing a king (or queen) for the day. #westfieldforeignlanguage

Washington Youth Tour | Deadline Jan. 26

On the latest issue of Georgia Magazine , you may have seen some familiar faces from last year's Youth Leadership Class representing Flint Energies at the Washington Youth Tour. Since 1965, the Washington Youth Tour has given 1,650 students in Georgia - and more than 40,000 students nationwide - the opportunity to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience

The 2018 tour will take place June 7 - 14. Applicants must first complete a short application and essay before receiving a study packet. The study packet will prepare applicants for a written test based on the material provided on subjects such as electricity, cooperatives, and the electric utility industry. The ten contestants with the highest score on the written test will be invited to participate in a short interview at a later date.

Hard copies of the application and additional information about representing Flint Energies at the Washington Youth Tour are available from Mrs. Kay Grier, Westfield Director of College Counseling.
