  Greetings!
Fall is near, and our 540 students are off to a great school year. Be sure to read this issue of "Hornets in Action" to see what our students are involved in and what they are accomplishing. We believe that our faculty has created an educational environment where students enjoy learning, develop creativity, and build leadership skills. Outside the classroom, Westfield students excel in athletics, literary, and other activities, representing our school in various competitions. Sports are well underway for the year with our first home football game tomorrow night in the Hornets' Nest. Our drama department is gearing up for this year's one act play, and our literary coaches are selecting students for music competition. It's great to be a Westfield Hornet!
Thank you to Perry Ford for hosting the Ford Drive 4 UR School event this past Saturday. Over 100 people test drove a new Ford vehicle which will result in a $2,000 donation to Westfield. Special thanks to all our families and faculty/staff who came out to show your support. We appreciate you!
Westfield will be closed Monday, September 4th in observance of the Labor Day holiday. We hope you and your family will enjoy a safe and happy holiday. School will resume on Tuesday, September 5th.

Foreign Language Clubs Prepare
for "Tour de Westfield"
On September 13th, Westfield's Foreign Language Club will host its fourth "Tour de Westfield," an on-campus bike race modeled after the annual Tour de France that is held in France every summer. In the Middle School, only students in 8th grade are allowed to participate. In the Upper School, students in grades 9 through 12 may participate. Participants must bring their own bike and helmet to race. Although not all students will choose to participate, all will attend the race and cheer on their classmates as they cross the finish line. For more information, please contact Mrs. Anna Caulley at [email protected].
Thank you to Pastor Jason Mangrum, Cross Point Baptist Church, for sharing the Gospel with our students during this week's Upper and Middle School assemblies. We are thankful for Pastor Mangrum and other youth pastors in our community who help our students to hear God's truth and wisdom in today's culture. #educationofmindandheart
