November 9, 2017
  Greetings!
It's been a great week at Westfield! Because of your incredible generosity and support of this year's Annual Fund, many of our grades have enjoyed pizza parties for lunch...and everyone is looking forward to a school-wide holiday on Monday, 2nd! Our one act play placed first in Region competition, our choruses are practicing for their concert at Mistletoe Market, and our first graders are working hard to get ready for their Thanksgiving performance. Our wrestling, swimming, and basketball teams are preparing for the upcoming winter sports season.

Don't forget..."Parenting the Teenager" with John Rosemond tonight at 6:30 p.m. (tickets available at the door) and tomorrow - Friday, November 10th - is a student holiday!

Thank You for Supporting the Annual Fund!
We Raised $110,000 and Reached 86% Participation!
Thank you to all our families, faculty/staff, and friends for supporting the Annual Fund. During the three-week kickoff drive, we raised over $110,000 and reached 86 percent school-wide participation! As a result, everyone will enjoy a day off of school on Monday, April 2nd, and all students will be allowed to wear Spirit Wear every day in December.

Contributions from this year's campaign will be targeted towards facility improvements, technology, teacher professional development, parent programs and more. We are so grateful for our generous donors and truly appreciate your dedication and support of Westfield. Although the three-week kick off has come to an end, please remember the Annual Fund is an ongoing campaign and will run until June 30, 2018. Watch your mail soon for your Westfield discount card and tax receipt. #readysetgive #westfieldannualfund
Your Input is Important!
Cafeteria Survey

Westfield is in the process of reviewing the cafeteria services to ensure they are meeting or exceeding the needs of our students, families, faculty, and staff. Your input is a driving factor in the decision-making process. Please take a few minutes to complete the cafeteria e-survey through SurveyMonkey before midnight on Friday, November 10th at which time the survey will close.
If you did not receive the survey email from wdehem@westfieldschool.org via SurveyMonkey, please check your spam/junk folders. If you did not receive the email, please verify your e-mail address is correct in MyWestfield (RenWeb), then contact Amy Sloan (asloan@westfieldschool.org).
Why America is Free...
Fourth Graders Step Back into Colonial America
Our fourth graders in Mrs. Glynelle Beeland and Mrs. Amber Churcher's classes took a step back into history by studying the American Revolution and Colonial America. Through a hands-on learning curriculum called "Why America is Free," the students discovered the extraordinary events, times, and heroes of our country's birth and independence. Through social studies lessons, reading, music, dance, and art, they learned about the culture of Colonial America, as well as the principles and values upon which America was founded. The culmination of the study was Patriots' Day, a full day of hands-on, interactive learning as students spent an entire school day as if they were living during this period in American history. Click here or on any image above to get an inside look at Westfield's fourth grade Patriots' Day! #whyamericaisfree #handsonlearning #educationofmindandheart
