February 1, 2018
  Greetings!
From performing on stage to dissecting animals and creating solar systems, our Hornets are in action this week! Kindergarten students transformed into 100-year-old ladies and gentlemen to celebrate the 100th Day of School, and our athletic teams represented the green and gold on the court and in the swimming pool. Take a look at what our Hornets are accomplishing!
Kindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of School!
These kindergarten students have learned so much in their first 100 days of school! They celebrated by coming to school dressed as if they were 100 years old! Throughout the day, the students created and counted all things 100. Their celebration ended with a special cake made of 100 cupcakes!
Help Westfield "Red Out" for Heart!
Order your t-shirt by Friday, February 2nd at noon
It's time for a "Red Out"! The Senior Beta Club will sponsor the sixth annual "Red Out" on Friday, February 9th. Students will be encouraged to wear red to school and to the home basketball games that night so we can red out the stands and create awareness about heart disease. Donations for the American Heart Association (AHA) will be collected February 5 through February 9. Students who make a $1 donation will receive a "Red Out" sticker to wear on the 9th. The Spirit Shop is selling Red Out shirts available for purchase through the Spirit Shop Online Store . Shirts are $15 each, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the AHA. The deadline for ordering is Friday, February 2nd at noon. Shirts will be delivered to students at school by Wednesday, February 7th. #westfieldredout2018

Space Day: First Grade "Astronauts"
Study the Solar System
Our first grade "astronauts" channeled their creative and collaborative learning skills to create posters about the solar system for "Space Day"! Creating projects within the classroom setting allows students not only to follow specific instructions and complete the work independently, but also to work collaboratively among their classmates. Along with creating posters, the students wrote and designed their own planet books and enjoyed special snacks! #westfieldfirstgrade #spaceday #interactivelearning #collaboration #flippedclassroom
