IOLS Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills

Leaders have the opportunity to go through IOLS throughout the week at camp.  IOLS or Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills is a training course designed to impart basic Scouting knowledge and skills to new troop leader in order to allow them to be better instructors and leaders. The course is open to all leaders at Tomahawk, but the training will be held in Chippewa. The program meets in the Chippewa camp dining hall from 3:30-8:30 Sunday-Thursday. Supper will be provided for you at the Chippewa dining hall. The final test will be at 9:00am on Friday. Participants from White Pine may drive directly to the Dining Hall. Carpooling is recommended to reduce the number of vehicles driving through camp. There is an additional fee of $10 per adult enrolled in this program and the fee will be billed to your troop at camp.

Wilderness First Aid Training

Merit Badge Sign-Up is Open

Merit Badges are now open for you to register your Scouts. This registration is NOT first come first served UNTIL June 1st. Right now you can enter your Scouts into your roster and then submit their merit badge requests using the Summer Camp Management System (SCMS).

On June 1st we will determine placement for merit badges, giving older Scouts first preference for limited space merit badges. Not all badges are limited space. All requests will be accepted f or badges that are not limited space. On June 1st you can pull a report to show that status of each request made. This will also serve as a class roster for your unit and it is an editable excel format.

Please try to make all merit badge requests before June 1st to provide camp and your youth ample time to prepare.

A list of the merit badge schedule can be found in your Sub-Camp Companion manual. A printable version can be found at www.CampTomahawk.org/Resources
