Sorry to bug you with so many emails, but we are really glad you are able to join us for the International Coastal Cleanup and cannot wait to see you tomorrow!

There are a few important things we need to share with you before the cleanup. Please continue to read the information below for all the details.
Things Volunteers Need to Know

  • If you are unable to stop by our office today before 5 pm to pick up your bag of supplies, we will have it for you tomorrow at Stuart Beach to pick up beginning at 8:30 am.

  • Our photographers are short staffed. To ensure we have photos of every group before, during and after the cleanup please take photos of your group and send them to us at [email protected]g or post them on our Facebook page and use the hashtag #ICCMC2017 so we can showcase your hard work!

  • Because of Hurricane Irma, there probably won’t be as much litter to pick up, but we can still help out by removing limbs and other debris from our beaches! Please place vegetative debris in one pile in an area not directly under a power line, away from any structures, and if possible not in parking areas. DO NOT put any vegetation inside the dumpsters or trash cans. There will be a large 20 yard dumpster at Stuart Beach designated for vegetation. Safety is our top priority and we would like to remind anyone picking up debris that some of the animal residents have been displaced during the hurricane and they may have moved into hiding, so please use caution when picking up debris. Please click here for additional information on each cleanup location.

  • We want you to know, we are no longer able to provide our volunteers with food for the Volunteer Appreciation Celebration. Our friends at Subway have been working tirelessly to provide sandwiches to the first responders in our community after Hurricane Irma and have ran out of supplies. We understand and appreciate the efforts Subway has taken to give to our community and we hope you will too. We are working hard to find a alternative.

  • As you may already be aware, reporting is a critical part of the cleanup. Please record all the items you collect on your reporting cards. Volunteer groups should consolidate all volunteer forms onto one main coordinator reporting form and submit it to us as soon as possible. We will be collecting coordinator data cards at Stuart Beach until 11:30 am on Saturday. If you are unable to make it before 11:30 am you can drop it off to the KMB office next week anytime from 9 am to 5 pm on Monday or email it to [email protected]. If you want to make even more of an impact, you can go paperless with the Clean Swell app and submit your data instantly online. Click here for more details.

  • If you come across sea turtles nests or live turtles on the beach please do not disturb them! Contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation immediately at 888-404-3922 for further instructions.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
