*Ted Shaw, former director-counsel and president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and groundbreaking trial attorney is one of the nation's leading voices in civil rights. He has litigated civil rights cases with the US Department of Justice, at the trial and appellate levels, and before the Supreme Court, including representing African-American and Latino students in the University of Michigan affirmative action admissions case. Shaw currently serves on the Legal Advisory Network of the European Roma Rights Council based in Budapest, Hungary. He is also a professor at Columbia University, where he was awarded the Wien Prize for Social Responsibility.
