On National Signing Day (Feb. 1, 2017), 13 players coached by Total Futbol signed letters of intent to play college soccer, embarking on the next stage of their soccer careers with some big smiles.

At right, Herndon United '99 player Sophie Karas celebrates the moment. Nationally, just 2.4% of female high school athletes go on to play Division I college soccer. 
 




  
To prepare themselves for a competitive spring in the Eastern Regional League, Herndon United '99 competed in a string of eight tournaments from August 2016 through January 2017. They won five, racking up 19 wins, three draws and a mere two losses.  

One of the sweetest victories came at the prestigious Disney showcase in Orlando, FL (shown at right).

 




  Preseason Tournament Roundup

Teams coached by TF collected hardware from a plethora of preseason tournaments as they warmed up for spring. At right, the MSI Academy '07 Green team clutches the U10 Championship trophy at the 2017 Arlington Spring Invitational.

Collectively, winning TF teams played in 54 tournament matches, posting 42 wins, 9 losses and 3 draws, scoring 186 goals (3.4 average per game) and allowing 67 (1.2 average per game). Read more at the links below:
  

 



Total Futbol alum Jamie Kator (originally part of the Herndon Firecats team that graduated from high school in 2013) has made the jump to play professional soccer in Switzerland after four years in the midfield with the Vanderbilt University Commodores.

Tee Up for a Good Cause
Friday, May 12 is the date we'll trade soccer balls for golf balls once again and tee up for TF's annual golf fundraiser. Proceeds go to cancer research and financial aid!  
 



A New Org Chart to Support Players  
To better support our player development programming with dedicated resources and expertise, we've named four new Directors who will lead our efforts in key areas.  
 



TF Futsal Champions Crowned 
54 teams and more than 300 players in total converged on Cassel's Sports Complex for some high octane futsal that saw eight teams go home as TF Tournament Champs.




Sizzling Savings on Summer Camp
The time has come to finalize those summer soccer plans and, once again, Total Futbol is offering a full slate of residential and day camps to suit every player's needs.

Total Futbol coach Matt Lee says the things he loves most about soccer are "the long-lasting bonds and the family-oriented environment". 

His advice for young players? "I believe that self-reflection and self-improvement are vital to off-the-field development."
