SHELBURNE NAMED A FINALIST IN COORS BANQUET ONE HORSE TOWN CONTEST  

 

Shelburne, Ontario was named alongside Lacombe, Alberta as a finalist in the Coors Banquet Once Horse Town Contest which would see the winner bringing Tim Hicks and The Road Hammers to their town for a big time concert

The winner will be determined by number of votes. Voting began Monday, August 3, 2015 and closes Monday, August 10th.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ORANGEVILLE'S BROADWAY NOMINATED IN THE GREAT PLACES IN CANADA COMPETITION

 

Broadway - Orangeville, Ontario's beautiful main street - has been nominated in the Great Places in Canada competition

 

Considered the hub of the community's social, cultural, and economic activities, Broadway's specialty shops, eateries and businesses play host to multiple festivals and unique landscape features. Established as a road about 175 years ago, Broadway is a protected and celebrated heritage district. With 100 feet between buildings on the north and south sides of the street (instead of the usual 66 feet), it is one of the widest main streets in Ontario.

    

 

 

NOMINATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2015 ARTS AND CULTURE AWARDS

 

Orangeville's Arts and Culture Committee is currently seeking nominations for the 2015 arts and culture awards presented at the sixth annual Mayor's Breakfast for the Arts on September 24. The arts and culture awards recognize businesses, organizations and individuals who have contributed to arts and culture in Orangeville. The definition of arts and culture is all encompassing and not only includes the more recognizable forms such as visual, music, dance, film, theatre, written word, but also culinary, design, parades, festivals, community events. Nominations are being accepted until September 8, 2015.

HEADWATERS FALL/WINTER SUPPLEMENT 

   
Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Headwaters 2015 Four Season Visitor Guide, we will be producing a 20-page fall/winter supplement. This publication will complement our Visitor Guide distribution from May of this year, and remind visitors why they should consider visiting the area during the fall & winter.  

 

We will be producing 75,000 copies of this 20-page supplement, and will be distributing 65,000 of the copies in the Globe & Mail, with the remainder being available in locations throughout Headwaters. There will be a few limited partner opportunities in this supplement as follows:

  • ½ page ad:  $1500 (LWB partners) or $1,600 (non-LWB partners)
  • Full page ad:  $2600 (LWB partners) or $2800 (non-LWB partners).
There will only be a limited number of spaces available.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this marketing opportunity, please contact us directly no later than August 13th to secure your space.
 

 

TASTE OF THE HARVEST 2015 - CALL FOR PARTICIPATION  

  

Taste of the Harvest 2015 will take place from October 9th - November 8th, 2015

 

This is your invitation to take part in our annual celebration of the fall harvest in Headwaters! Participation is easy and there are several ways to get in on the action:

  • Create a special 3-course prix-fixe FEAST menu (must have some type of harvest theme, and not include standard menu items or pricing).
  • Establish a price and send us the menu and we'll include that as part of our harvest FEAST promotion.
  • Add a harvest item to your menu (using Headwaters products, of course) and we'll include that in our promotion.
  • Tell us about your harvest event or festival and we'll help promote it!
  • Host classes or workshops celebrating the harvest and we'll promote them!
