Town of Enfield Development Services Announces the Return of Enfield's

Community & Farmers Market

ENFIELD, CONN - April 23, 2015:
Courtney Hendricson, Assistant Town Manager, Development Services, is pleased to announce the return of Enfield's Community and Farmers Market,
"we are thrilled with the success of last year's market and are excited about the vendor and market goers' enthusiasm going into this coming market season," says Hendricson. "We have been working and preparing for the 2015 season over the winter and we are excited about the upcoming schedule of events as well as the return of our vendors," Hendricson continues.

Notices have already gone out to last year's vendors, who eagerly anticipate the market and will be selling their homemade pies, farm fresh produce, fried dough, bakery bread and pizza, artisan jewelry, handmade clothing and much more. Other vendors include: Asnuntuck Community College, and area non-profits. A webpage has been created dedicated to Community and Farmers Market information and updates, which can be found on thinkenfield.com.

Additionally, Enfield's Development Services has already coordinated with Falcetti Music to secure weekly live performances and look forward to the return of Spiral Logic (as seen above in the photo) as well as other local bands. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the special appearance of popular local celebrity, "Faith the Goat," whose presence has been confirmed by Shaker Farm Market's very own Farmer Rick.

Hendricson states, "Last year Enfield's 1st Community and Farmers Market drew 40 to 50 vendors each week and we look forward to its growth. Vendors truly appreciate that there is no fee associated with setting up each week, which appeals to a wide range of local farmers, crafters, artisans, non-profits, specialty food makers and other businesses. A wonderful sense of community and camaraderie was developed last year, which created a special experience for the vendors and market-goers."

The Town of Enfield, Development Services will host Enfield's 2nd Community and Farmers Market each Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. beginning July 15 until October 14, 2015; located in Downtown Thompsonville next to Freshwater Pond, right down the road from Town Hall. There will be plenty of free and ample parking available in the area. Also, many farmers will be accepting SNAP food vouchers.

A special thanks to MassMutual Financial Group, Enfield's Community and Farmers Market Premier Community Sponsor, whose involvement demonstrates Enfield business' commitment to local grassroots initiatives. "MassMutual's sponsorship will allow us to continue to generate a more widespread awareness of the market and gives us the ability to give out special prizes throughout the market season, so be sure to stop by," Hendricson states.
