The UK Government recently launched its new Export Strategy to help UK businesses grow through exporting. The Government's ambition is to see exports grow as a proportion of GDP from 30% to 35% of GDP in the long term.
The strategy sets out the four ways the Government can make a difference leveraging the following government resources:
- Finance - Ensure no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance from the private sector;
- Connect - Connect UK businesses to overseas buyers, markets and each other;
- Inform - Help businesses access the right information, advice and practical assistance;
- Encourage - Encourage and inspire businesses that can export but have not started or are just beginning.
