Welcome to the May/June Trade and Investment Update 

The May/June period has certainly been busy for the BABC network, particularly with the launch of a brand new trade publication as well as the ever-fantastic Annual Transatlantic Conference, hosted this year by BABC Midlands who delivered an incredible event with a brilliant line-up of speakers.

In addition, BABC appointed a new President. Congratulations to Stuart Bagshaw, Chief Executive of British American Business LEAP, LLC, who takes on this role after having served as President and Chairman of the BABC Chapter in Northern California.

It does not stop here. Over the next few weeks BABC looks forward to two more events this month that the network supports; the International Business Festival, running until 28 June in Liverpool, UK; and the SelectUSA Investment Summit between taking place 18-20 June. BABC Transatlantic Conference 2018
On 6 & 7 June, BABC Midlands hosted the 2018 BABC Transatlantic Conference in Birmingham, UK. Bringing together over 200 business leaders in the transatlantic economic community, representatives from the 22 BABC chapters and government representatives from both sides of the pond, the conference is the highlight of the BABC calendar.

The conference boasted an incredible lineup of speakers including the US Ambassador to the UK, Robert Wood Johnson; Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands; Julian David, CEO, TechUK; and Priya Guha, Ecoysystem General Manager, RocketSpace to name but a few.

Finding Your Way: The Trade and Investment Guide to the US 2018/19
On 7 June, BABC launched the latest edition of its Trade and Investment Guide to the US for 2018/19.

Announced at the Annual Transatlantic Conference in Birmingham, UK, 'Finding Your Way' is a comprehensive guide for UK businesses who are looking to bring their business to the US market.

The guide features articles on the key issues and barriers businesses may face on their transatlantic journey including immigration, finance, insurance, logistics, and tax - kindly provided by our expert member companies Gibney, Anthony & Flaherty; Santander; Travelers; UPS and Deloitte.

The publication was produced by BritishAmerican Business, BABC's chapter in London, and received a formal endorsement from both the Department for International Trade and SelectUSA.

International Business Festival
The International Business Festival is the world’s biggest business event. Hosted every two years in its home city of Liverpool, United Kingdom, the Festival is a true celebration of the dynamism and diversity of the global marketplace.

Boosting Business and Investment Between Europe and NYC
In an effort to increase business/investment between NYC and European ecosystems, the New York City’s Mayor's Office invites key tech leaders in Europe to participate in an 8 min anonymous online survey by June 25th.

If you are or know/work alongside a tech startup, scale-up, larger company or VCs from anywhere in Europe, we encourage you to take part.

The Mayor's Office's goal is to make NYC the most welcoming hub for European tech in the world and support our investor community interested in Europe.
