LA Safety by the Numbers

More than 750 people died and about 1,400 were seriously injured on Louisiana highways in 2016.

Over 10 years, traffic fatalities have dropped by 24%, from 963 in 2005 to 752 in 2015.

As of last year, 87% of Louisianans buckle up. About 40% of fatalities involved alcohol and drugs. About 63% of fatalities resulted from roadway departures.

To know more of how Louisiana is working to address these numbers and eventually reaching Destination Zero Deaths, view Louisiana's updated Strategic Highway Safety Plan.
