Officials and partners of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), Louisiana State Police (LSP), Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC), and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) all join forces to remind all that Work Zone Safety Is In Your Hands, which is this year's theme for National Work Zone Awareness Week on April 3-7, 2017.

March 30, 2017 - Highway safety officials from Louisiana DOTD, Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, Louisiana State Police and Federal Highway Administration gathered on the steps of the State Capitol in Baton Rouge today for a pre-campaign press conference prior to next week's National Work Zone Awareness Week #NWZAW #OrangeforSafety

Louisiana highway safety leaders receive public service award at Lifesavers Conference
 
Louisiana's very own highway safety leaders Major Carl Saizan of Louisiana State Police and Bridget Gardner of Sudden Impact at United Medical Center - New Orleans were both recognized as two of the 14 public service awardees of the largest national conference on highway safety priorities  Lifesavers Conference 2017 recently held in Charlotte, NC.  Read more. 

Both Gardner and Saizan are team leaders of the Strategic Highway Safety Plan's Young Drivers and Impaired Drivers Emphasis Areas, respectively.

The council's purpose is simple: to coordinate, collaborate and communicate consistent road safety messaging. Read more.
