Local Road Safety Program Updates
 
Louisiana's Local Road Safety Program now has a new webpage
The Louisiana Center for Transportation Safety (LCTS) now facilitates project submittal and technical review of project applications to the Local Road Safety Program (LRSP). The program has a new landing webpage: www.ltrc.lsu.edu/lcts/lcts_lrsp.html
 
The LCTS is now accepting project applications for the 4th Quarter of 2015. Cutoff date is on December 31, 2015. Send your applications to Rudynah Capone, LA Center for Transportation Safety located at LTRC Building, 4101 Gourrier Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.

LRSP Changes and Improvements 
Changes to the LRSP were announced at the recently held Local Road Safety Peer Exchange. These changes were made official in a form of a memorandum. Revised LRSP Guidelines and Policies will be posted soon. Read memo on the changes.

Local Road Safety Program
Calling all Parishes and municipalities in Louisiana! Please turn in your project applications for local road safety improvements by December 31, 2015 to be considered for the 4th Quarter Project Selection. Read more.

Regional Models of Cooperation
To implement the Strategic Highway Safety Plan at the local level takes a lot of collaboration between the state, the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), Regional Safety Coalitions and local public entities. This month, we're featuring FHWA's Every Day Counts-3 effort called Regional Models of Cooperation which is very much applicable to implement SHSP. This model provides a framework and process for entities to develop multi-jurisdictional transportation plans, including the Regional SHSPs.
