Louisiana is paving the way in traffic safety with Destination Zero Deaths, a multidisciplinary initiative to reduce motor vehicle-related fatalities and serious injuries. Visitwww.destinationzerodeaths.comfor more information.
Louisiana's regional safety coalition coordinators will share how the regional 4E approach (engineering, education, enforcement, EMS) has contributed to the
drop of traffic-related fatalities for this past decade by 21.6% (from 966 in 2006 to 737 in 2014). This truly is a success story we are proud to share with stakeholders across the nation.
This effort is spearheaded by the
SHSP Communications Coordinating Council in partnership with LA Safety Center and LADOTD.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Bridget Gardner for winning the prestigious
Florence Nightingale Award for Outstanding Community Achievement by a Registered Nurse. The award was hosted by
LA State Nurses Foundation. Ms. Gardner is the statewide SHSP team leader for young drivers emphasis area.
